MICROGEN is an academic organization founded in 1999 under the affiliation of the University of Bucharest. With more than 100 projects in the field of genetics, microbiology, and biotechnology, we are also offer educational programs (MDs and PhD) and provide scientific consultancy.
MICROGEN is a multidisciplinary research center with more than 30 researchers with extensive experience in genetics and microbiology. The research center is integrating different disciplines and facilitating academic, public, private and voluntary sector partnerships.
We are focusing on a multidisciplinary strategy from microbial identification, developing bioproducts, testing microbial functions, pathogenesis mechanisms to bioremediation.
